What is Thermal Imaging?
Thermal imaging uses infrared technology to measure temperature differences in areas of the home. This easily identifies areas of heat loss, moisture intrusion or plumbing leaks. Not only can this technology and specialized equipment reveal unnoticed areas of concern it also pinpoints the cause, likely reducing repair costs.
Thermal Imaging is an effective tool in identifying areas of moisture intrusion and sources of leaks either from defective plumbing systems, a failed roof flashing, or areas of condensation damage in attic areas.
Thermal imaging is also very effective at identifying areas of energy loss due to settled, or inadequate insulation. Also ceiling penetrations can be an area of air leakage that can cause significant damage to the structure due to condensation.
We provide thermal imaging with all full home inspections. We also offer this as a stand alone service for homeowners investigating areas of suspected plumbing or roofing leakage as well as areas of inadequate insulation and air sealing.
